New Nokia 2730 classic, 2720 fold and 7020 to hit emerging markets Nokia have prepared a set of three emerging markets phone meant to make the most out of services such as Nokia Life Tools and Ovi Mail. The Nokia 2730 classic, 2720 fold and 7020 are all based on S40 and their primary focus is providing easy internet and email access to people that have no computers.
The 3G-packing Nokia 2730 classic is the best equipped among those entry-level handsets. The bar-shaped handset is offering dual-band UMTS and quad-band GSM/GPRS/EDGE support. It also sports a 2 megapixel camera, FM radio and Bluetooth v2.0.
Some of the other features of the Nokia 2730 classic include a microSD card slot, a 3.5mm standard audio jack and Nokia maps application which comes preinstalled. The display on the handset measures 2" and comes with QVGA resolution.

Piced at 80 euro (with 1GB memory card included in the retail package) the Nokia 2730 classic is expected to start shipping in Q3 2009.
The other interesting handset is the stylish clamshell Nokia 7020. Targeted at users who don't want a tight budget to compromise their mobile phone's looks, it has a tad less features than the 2730 classic - with 3G being the most evident omission.
Sporting some nice metal finishes, the Nokia 7020 comes with a 2.2" QVGA display plus a secondary more basic external unit. It pack FM radio, a 2 megapixel camera, Bluetooth and EDGE and a mictoSD card slot.
A built-in accelerometer enables some cool functionality like tap-for-time. Social networking integration is also duly covered, which might be a nice thing for teenage adopters.

It's 2009 and we're still waiting for the Near Field Communication revolution. However, due to tough economic times and a lack of consumer devices, planned commercial NFC rollouts will likely be pushed into 2010. Still, we can add one more device to the NFC tally -- the Nokia 6216 Classic. The 6216 is Nokia's first handset with an embedded NFC chipset that communicates with NFC applications stored on the SIM. That little trick keeps the carriers happy while allowing consumers to keep their credit card info and contact-less ticketing and payment applications on the SIM for easy mobility between NFC devices. A good thing too, since this middling 3G candy bar with camera, FM radio, and microSD slot will be of limited appeal to most.Read -- Nokia 6216 ClassicRead -- Economy, standards stand in the way of NFCGeneral 2G Network GSM 850 / 900 / 1800 / 19003G Network UMTS 850 / 2100Announced 2009, AprilStatus Coming soon. If you couldn’t afford the 5800 XpressMusic, Nokia now has another affordable option in the same XpressMusic category that goes by the number 5530. Key features include a big touchscreen display that is 2.9 inches wide capable of display at 640×360 pixels, a 3.2 megapixel camera with autofocus and LED flash, a 3.5 mm headset jack, 70MB of internal memory which can be bumped up to 16GB via MicroSD (4GB card included), Bluetooth 2.0, and WiFi. Sadly though, the 5530 XpressMusic tops out with GPRS/EDGE network connectivity. We definitely like the price at just about $278, but the lack of 3G/HSDPA support will certainly be a big turn-off when the phone starts shipping in the third quarter of this year. GLOBAL – Today we bring you the phone behind the videos, the Nokia 3720 classic. Over the last couple of days you might have seen the 3720 classic being beaten to within an inch of its life as we kicked it, hit it with a golf club, dropped it from the top of a ladder, swam with it, dunked it in beer, sunk it in jelly and shot it with a paintball gun. Dubbed the new ‘rugged’ phone and built to IP-54 standards, the 3720 classic is designed to resist water, dust and shock. Markku Suomi, VP Connect devices at Nokia said
“Whether using it at the beach or in a dusty construction site, the Nokia 3720 classic has been specifically engineered to withstand the splashes, bumps and drops that come with the terrain”
And he’s not wrong. We’ve been playing with the device and it really does take a lot of abuse. But this isn’t like ‘rugged’ phones of the past. For starters, it simply doesn’t look like one. Get it in the hand and from the feel you can tell it’s something a bit special.
Flip it over and in place of the usual snap on battery cover, comes a twist screw set up designed to keep the cover in place in the event of a fall. This cover not only protects the battery, but the internal circuitry too.
Looks wise I think the phone is an ace. With a range of colours on offer it won’t be hard to find one that suits (sorry, no Camo though).
The device will start shipping this summer and is expected to cost about €125 before subsidies or taxes. Check out the full, official, specs and gallery below.

While the thinking is not new (research on the ideally field of Augmented Reality dates returning to the ’90s), a large amount of the most recent devices are initiating to feature the required functionality in terms of hardware.
Unfortunately there is no talk about so far of any similar application* on Symbian smartphones, so the present expect aims to fill the gap by amidst a prototype tool featuring the use of sensors, camera and location established services.[*] Though we is able to ponder Nokia Research Center’s MARA suppose (2006) as the principally hard work to shoot the current functionality on a Nokia smartphone.
