HTC has just issued another official statement regarding the HTC One delayed launch.

A few markets will get HTC One on time after all - the United Kingdom, Germany and Taiwan will be lucky enough to get the HTC flagship next week.

The rest of the world will have to wait though. HTC promises to bring the One to Europe, North America and most of the Asia-Pacific countries before the end of April. This means the HTC One will lose its headstart before the Galaxy S4.

Here is the official HTC statement:

"HTC has seen unprecedented demand for and interest in the new HTC One, and the care taken to design and build it is evidenced in early reviews. The new HTC One will roll out in the UK, Germany and Taiwan next week and across Europe, North America and most of Asia-Pacific before the end of April. We appreciate our customers’ patience, and believe that once they have the phone in their hands they will agree that it has been worth the wait."

Surely one month of delay won't make a huge difference for the users no matter their complaints, but HTC One will have to put up with the pressure coming from the Samsung's Galaxy S4 which is set to launch about the same time.yes phones4u hav been selling them since saturday 16, im a staff of phones4u, ive had one since then, go to a local phones4u you can pick it up from there sim free 489.99

Nokia 1616

The 1.8" 128 x 160 pixel screen is large enough to be useful, and as it's a TFT display it should be very easy to read. Although this is a very limited resolution compared to most mid-market European phones, the Nokia 1616 doesn't really do anything that would merit a higher resolution display.

Like the 1280, the Nokia 1616 has a dust resistant keypad, although the 1616 has a somewhat sleeker look. The phone also comes with a flashlight, an FM radio (although an external headset is required), MP3 grade ringtones, a speakerphone, multiple phonebooks and in some markets it will ship with Nokia Life Tools.

This is a basic Series 30 handset, but the larger colour screen does make it a more enjoyable experience than the 1280. Underneath this is a dual band GSM phone, in either 900/1800 or 850/1900 MHz configurations. The BL-5C battery supplies enough power for up to 8.5 hours talktime and 22 days standby time, and the whole thing comes in at a lightweight 79 grams.
Four euros extra is not a lot to pay for a colour screen, but given the choice you might still want to go for the 1280 over the 1616 because of the 1280's different keypad arrangement.

Nokia say that the 1616 should be available during Q1 2010 with black, blue, gray and red interchangeable covers.

I was browsing the Nokia website and I came across a new phone that may interest you.
The Nokia 1800 has a distinctly modern design and comes with a built-in FM radio, preloaded Nokia Life Tools, and a range of other practical features.Today Nokia reinforced the low-end part of their portfolio with four new handsets. Nokia 1616, Nokia 1800, Nokia 2220 slide and Nokia 2690 are all entry-level handsets with basic functionality and a really low price tag.

Nokia 2730 classic

New Nokia 2730 classic, 2720 fold and 7020 to hit emerging markets
Nokia have prepared a set of three emerging markets phone meant to make the most out of services such as Nokia Life Tools and Ovi Mail. The Nokia 2730 classic, 2720 fold and 7020 are all based on S40 and their primary focus is providing easy internet and email access to people that have no computers.

The 3G-packing Nokia 2730 classic is the best equipped among those entry-level handsets. The bar-shaped handset is offering dual-band UMTS and quad-band GSM/GPRS/EDGE support. It also sports a 2 megapixel camera, FM radio and Bluetooth v2.0.

Some of the other features of the Nokia 2730 classic include a microSD card slot, a 3.5mm standard audio jack and Nokia maps application which comes preinstalled. The display on the handset measures 2" and comes with QVGA resolution.

Piced at 80 euro (with 1GB memory card included in the retail package) the Nokia 2730 classic is expected to start shipping in Q3 2009.

The other interesting handset is the stylish clamshell Nokia 7020. Targeted at users who don't want a tight budget to compromise their mobile phone's looks, it has a tad less features than the 2730 classic - with 3G being the most evident omission.

Sporting some nice metal finishes, the Nokia 7020 comes with a 2.2" QVGA display plus a secondary more basic external unit. It pack FM radio, a 2 megapixel camera, Bluetooth and EDGE and a mictoSD card slot.

A built-in accelerometer enables some cool functionality like tap-for-time. Social networking integration is also duly covered, which might be a nice thing for teenage adopters.
